New families, upon learning that they are expecting, can face an extraordinary amount of information and surmounting decisions before them. With a generous family donation, The Family Wellness Fund was established in recognition of the need for increased support and mental health services throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
This fund was established to provide supplemental wellness support to children and their caregivers through perinatal counselling, doula services, transportation, and medical supplies. The goal is to remove barriers of accessing care, including financial burdens – improving access to both social and mental health support. In working with the Women’s & Children’s team at Valley Regional Hospital, including a Primary Care Provider, Pregnancy Patient Navigator, New Mother’s Resource Clinic, and Lactation Consultants, this fund is accessible to any person accessing obstetrical care through Valley Regional Hospital during pregnancy and post-partum.
