Courtney Veinott has had an interest in medicine for quite some time, which has led her to her first year in the medical science program at Dalhousie University.
Veinott, a graduate of Bridgetown Regional Community School and Lawrencetown resident, started volunteering with a summer veterans walk-about program in Grade 8, and enjoyed the extreme bonds she formed with the participants. Her dad got sick when she was in Grade 10, and Veinott said she watched the care he received while in hospital. “I want to help people,” she said. “I want to be like the nurses and staff there.”
Veinott is grateful for the bursary funds she received from the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation and hopes to stay connected with the benefactors, who wish to remain anonymous.
