New Language Line Empowers Better Communication at Valley Regional Hospital! At Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, we were thrilled to recently visit the Women & Children’s Unit and witness the impact of a new piece of equipment made possible by the incredible generosity of donors like you!
Each year, over 700 babies are born at Valley Regional, and our province proudly celebrates a diverse population with people from more than 100 different cultures. As our communities grow more diverse, it’s essential to ensure that language is never a barrier to receiving high-quality healthcare.
That’s where the Language Line comes in. This innovative mobile device enables healthcare workers to connect patients with an interpretation service, allowing them to communicate in their native language. Whether sharing concerns, symptoms, or questions, patients can now relay their needs more easily, ensuring that healthcare teams can provide the best possible care.
Thanks to this new tool, women from underrepresented and underserved communities will have greater access to the care they deserve, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for both mothers and babies.
Thank you for your unwavering support in making Valley Regional Hospital a safer, more welcoming place for everyone. Your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of our patients.
