Congratulations to our 2021 Student Award Recipients!

We are proud to announce this year’s 2021 Student Award recipients are Silas Fancey and Hannah Moore. Two bursaries were generously made available from the Robert & Minnie (Beals) Sowerby Fund.

Silas Fancey is a graduate of Annapolis West Education Centre and has demonstrated hard work and persistence in all activities in and outside of school. While maintaining his academics, participating in extra-circulars such as hockey and badminton, Silas also volunteers and held a part-time job at the Annapolis Community Health Centre in the rehabilitation department. He says this particular experience inspired him to pursue a career in learning about the human body.

Silas will be attending Acadia University in the fall to study Kinesiology with hopes to eventually acquire a chiropractic license and one day open his own clinic. Congratulations Silas! We wish you all the best in your studies and your bright future ahead!

Hannah Moore is a Horton High School graduate and has always had a strong interest in health sciences. Hannah is an active member of her school and community; she particularly loves music and musical theatre and has been a part of her community theatre productions since she was eleven years old.

Hannah has worked hard to ensure her acceptance into the Nursing program at St. Francis Xavier University in the fall. She is incredibly excited to be able to continue her studies in health sciences and looks forward to what the future has to offer! Congratulations Hannah! We wish you great success in your studies and towards your bright future!
